Courageous love

A constructive new approach to couples counseling.

Whatever your reasons for seeking couples therapy…

lack of communication or destructive communication

constant arguments and accusations

lack of closeness

lack of sexual desire

breach of trust

… couples counseling based on Positive Psychology utilising the Internal Family Systems approach developed by Richard Schwartz (author of “Mutige Liebe”) shows you how to deal with relationship problems in a completely different, deeply constructive way.

If you are looking for couples counseling

  • that addresses the real causes of the relationship problems you are experiencing and helps each partner with their own development,
  • that you can also attend alone and still achieve a breakthrough in your relationship problems,
  • in which there are no losers and certainly no guilty parties,
  • in which you learn to replace obstructive relationship patterns with beneficial ones in order to be able to have a truly loving relationship

… then you’ve come to the right place!

So that love can flow – honest, vivid, and free!

Relationship crises are opportunities for growth

“Far too often, we separate from our partner
instead of letting go of our destructive relationship patterns.”
(Richard Schwartz)

Love courageously — Encounter authentically

Step 1 – Recognize & discard your childhood glasses

How you love, react, or withdraw today has a lot to do with what you learned about closeness, affection, and security in your childhood. In couples therapy, we work together to identify which old patterns are still unconsciously at work in you or your relationship, and how you can change them step by step. This creates a deep understanding of yourself and each other, resulting in a feeling of closeness.

Step 2 – Understanding conflicts & resolving them constructively

Conflict is not a sign of failure, but an invitation to understand each other better. I support you in clearly expressing your feelings and needs without hurting each other or falling back into old defensive patterns. It’s never about blame! This allows you to speak sincerely, listen, and feel understood again, even when things get difficult.

Step 3 – Strengthen closeness, trust, and connection

Most couples want more closeness, but often something stands in the way: insecurity, feeling overwhelmed, or fear of being hurt. In this step, you will learn to experience emotional and physical closeness as something safe again. You will discover how intimacy arises when openness meets appreciation—without pressure, but with mindfulness.

Step 4 – Keep the relationship alive

Fulfilling relationships grow through attention, small rituals, and shared goals. You develop new ways to stay connected with each other in everyday life. This creates a partnership that is not limited to functionality, but fulfills and strengthens both of you.

Information on procedure and costs

So that you know what to expect from this couples counseling, here you will find the procedure, the general conditions, and the costs.

Initial consultation

During our initial consultation, we get to know each other. You have space to share your concerns and expectations at your own pace. I will explain how I work, and together we agree on the next steps. We also define a clear goal so the process has direction from the very beginning.

Often, even in this first session, an initial direction begins to emerge. Relationship patterns become visible and can be looked at together with clarity.

Feel free to contact me in advance for a free, 15-minute introductory video call.

Process

Often within the first sessions, we begin to understand your relationship dynamics and recognize recurring patterns that keep you stuck. From there, new ways of relating can emerge – ways of being together that feel safer, more supportive, and nourishing.

If you come as a couple, it can sometimes be helpful to include individual sessions alongside the joint meetings in order to look more closely at personal patterns.

You are also welcome to come on your own. In this unique approach to couples counseling, the process does not depend on both partners attending. While it can be very supportive when both partners take part and reflect on their patterns, meaningful change is still possible when you begin by working on your own. As your understanding deepens and your responses shift, the dynamics within the relationship often begin to change as well. Your partner is welcome to join the process at any time if they wish.

Duration and frequency of counseling

The number of sessions depends on the nature of your concerns and what you would like to achieve. Some topics become clear within one to three sessions, while others run deeper and benefit from a longer process. Together we decide what pace feels right and how much support is helpful for you.

After about three to four sessions, we pause together and take stock: What progress has been made? Where do you find yourselves now as a couple? What would support you next – and whether anything more is needed.

A happy relationship is no coincidence

Every couple is unique, with its own history, dynamics, and way of relating to one another. And just as unique is the tailored path we design together for a promising result.

With my support, we create a safe space where you can take an honest look at:

What separates you right now and what still connects you? What patterns are holding you back? And how can you find more closeness, trust, and ease again?

Take the first step; it is often smaller than it seems and can change so much.

I look forward to seeing you!
